Hey friends,
HAPPY PRIDE!! Of all of the reasons to celebrate with ice cream, Pride is my favorite. Without Pride, there actually would be no Bold Batch. I started making ice cream for fun in May 2020. First, for myself and friends. Eventually, friends of friends. When total strangers starting asking for my custom pints, I freaked out and pulled the plug. I decided in June of 2020 that I should try to do something with my ice cream that went beyond smiles and sugar comas. I threw a fundraiser for the Marsha P. Johnson foundation. Pints of Berries & Cream and Red Velvet. 100% of proceeds were donated. The added benefit of the fundraiser was that I got feedback from strangers that I knew weren’t just trying to gas me up about my ice cream. That feedback gave me the confidence to start a business and book a commercial kitchen space (something that terrified me.)
This month, the Flight Club box will be Pride themed, and we’ll be donating 50% of profits from all boxes to Equality NC. The actual flavors and their stories will remain a surprise until pick-up day. If you’re not already a part of the club and you’re also down to clown for a good cause, you can join at the link below (the cut-off is the Friday before.)
Now, for the events! This weekend, we’ll be kicking off the celebration with Parlor Pride at Heights House! With last month’s rain-out, this is actually our first time vending at Heights House despite living just down the road for some time. Very excited to make our debut and see our old neighbors! Sunday is standard scoop service at our HQ (Sugar Euphoria). And don’t forget, you can get Bold Batch anytime Sugar Euphoria is open through our Grab and Go freezer! Inventory rotates weekly, and there’s always something new to try.
Notes on scoops:
Botanical Bash Sorbet was a raging success last weekend, and it’s GONE. I’m making more to give everyone a chance to try. It may be on the menu 1-2 more weekends depending on demand.
Oreo Matcha Stracciatella, Lavender Honey Swirl, Rainbow Vanilla Bean, Brunost Chocolate, and Thai Tea are intended to be regulars on this month’s menu! If anything changes, of course, I’ll share updates. Your feedback matters. With things getting a bit easier with the new equipment, I’m just hoping to introduce more consistency in the menu and make it a bit easier to do pints of flavors that appear on the scoop menu.
Today is Tim’s birthday! If you’ve come to a pop-up in the past year or so, you may have met him or at least tried one of the sourdough cone’s he’s responsible for. We can all wish him a happy birthday (even if he did request Dairy Queen for his cake.)
Ready to see the full scoop menu?
